With an amazing team, delicious menu, beautiful interiors & our truly wonderful guests, we have become the heart of every neighbourhood we are in.

From Humble Beginnings

It started with one.

Megan's first opened its doors in 2002 as a small antiques shop on the Kings Road. To keep her peckish visitors satisfied, Megan herself began selling home-made pastries & cakes in the shop.

Megan's Cafe is Born

Let them eat cake.

Megan's home-made cakes, gluten free brownies & the now-famous sea salt & Nutella cookie became so popular that she decided to turn her little antiques shop into a homely cafe. Loose leaf teas & Organic, fair-trade & rainforest alliance coffee were added to the menu...

Becoming a Restaurant

In good hands.

In 2014, Megan decided, with a heavy heart, to pack her bags & move back to New Zealand. She wanted her quaint Kings Road spot to be left in good hands, so she sold Megan's to a guest that lives just across the road & has frequented for many years. The famous magical year-round garden is created & Sercan, our Head Chef, introduces the Mediterranean-influenced evening menu...

Since 2014, we have expanded our family of restaurants & opened in new communities; Hosting birthday parties, baby showers & even weddings for our neighbours. Megan's continues to be an independently owned, dog friendly group serving up food inspired by sunny places, with a lovely team of like minded people (many of whom have been around since the restaurant first opened...). P.S. You can still find our first restaurant on the Kings Road, which is now called Sonya. Sonya is still part of the Megan's family but is owned & run by our first ever GM, Iskren, & our Exec Chef, Sercan!

At Megan’s not only do we cater for the community, we also care for the community. Ever since we first opened our doors, we have been helping out wherever we can. For example, 20% of our filtered water sales is donated to local charities.
